City ring road
Determined as an element of Bratislava’s urban structure, the inner city ring was developed from a modern idea for regulating construction inside cities. Traditionally, the ring street was established on the perimeter of a city’s historic core, positioned where the walls used to stand. The name “Ring” was adopted within the German cultural sphere that then encompassed Central Europe for the boulevards and wide streets that had now opened up for the construction of new buildings.
