Symbolically saying farewell to historical styles, designers of Art Nouveau architecture considered themselves representative of modern times and accordingly incorporated structure, layout and materials in their drawings. Nevertheless, an essential part of their architectural expression remains the richly decorated façades, outdoor cladding and intense coloration. Art Nouveau architecture in today’s Bratislava provides an example of the fruitful coexistence of different influences and concepts.
